Getting Ready

Oregon Coast and Portland July 17 - Aug 4 2009
Camping! Yikes, no trailer this year, just a tent. Get out those old checklists! We have a lantern somewhere down in the garage don't we? Where is the tent? Can't we use the old Hibachi? Where is the tarp? Do we HAVE to bring all those dishes? What happened to the cook stove?
One thing leads to another and we are cleaning out the garage to find all of our camping gear. This is a holiday right?

Still we are quite excited with the adventure. We are driving down the Oregon Coast, tenting when it is nice weather, B&B if it is nasty or we need a hot tub and some pampering. We are bringing our bikes - they fit on the outside of the car. Then we are looping back up through Ashland (Shakespeare Festival) and will stay in Portland for a week.
We have a great HOTEL, right in the heart of the city, close to Powell's - The Famous Book Store, and close to transit and Portlands local coffee shops. I will have that week off while Kay goes to her UUMN Music Conference.... 3 days to get it all packed....

  3. Love the photo of your car fully loaded!
Reminds me of Dad's green plymouth with the
car rack fully loaded on our 1962 (one and only)camping trip to Frederiction and back.
Nice to "meet" Kay's relatives and see Erm.
    Cheers, M and R
